Saint Anthony's Seminary - Santa Barbara Daily Painting

"Saintly View"
5 x 7 inches
oil on panel

This was a challenging piece because it was hard to figure out what was the lightest part of the painting. In reality the sky was, but I wanted the bright white of the seminary walls to stand attract your eye. Then to throw another wrench in the composition the ocean turned to the brightest area right at the end near the sunset. I will have to get back up on the Riviera to do a bigger one.

  1. Hey Chris- Great show today. This is another of my favorite views in SB! I am interested in this one, after I pay off my other- so keep me in mind if it hasn't sold yet!
