The Breakwater, Santa Barbara Harbor

"Breakwater on a Sunny Morning"
11 x 14 inches
oil on gesso panel

I arrived at the harbor at around 7:30 am with my coffee and a bagel. After I ate the bagel I walked around and felt the anticipation of the day at the docs. I smelled fresh smell of the sea and the mornings catch. There where seagulls and pelicans and rough looking sailors all rustling about. I was thinking about painting some of the boats but instead stopped at this view of the beginning of the breakwater. I liked the sleek shape of the dark reflection.
