"Eillings Sunset", Eillings Park, Santa Barbara

"Eillings Sunset"
5 x 7 inches
oil on panel

If you want to paint colorful landscapes, a good place to start would be the sunset. The key is to not try to paint it big. The colors change every moment and on a small canvas you can change an area's color in a few strokes. Also, the pressure that there won't be any more light in a few moments makes you rise to the occasion.
